Greg Olsen was born in Paterson, New Jersey, and grew up in nearby Wayne, where his father coached the high school football team he'd go on to star for. He played college football at Miami before the Chicago Bears took him in the first round of the 2007 draft, but he made his biggest mark after a 2011 trade to the Carolina Panthers, where he became the first tight end in NFL history to post three straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons and helped anchor the offense that carried Carolina to Super Bowl 50. He retired in 2021 as the Panthers' all-time leader among tight ends in catches and receiving yards, with three Pro Bowl selections to his name. Olsen began building his broadcasting career even before he stopped playing, calling occasional games for Fox during his final Panthers seasons, and the transition proved seamless: he became Fox's lead NFL color analyst by 2022, calling Super Bowl LVII alongside Kevin Burkhardt and earning Sports Emmy recognition for his sharp, technically grounded commentary.
