Constance "Connie" Ray (born 10 July 1956, Chapel Hill, North Carolina) is an American actress and playwright whose career spans from 1991 to the present. She studied dance at East Carolina University before switching to acting, earning an MFA from Ohio University in the early 1980s. She is best known for starring as Millicent Torkelson in the ABC sitcom The Torkelsons (1991–1992) and for her supporting roles in Stuart Little (1999), Thank You for Smoking (2005), About Schmidt (2002), Ice Princess (2005), and Flags of Our Fathers (2006). On television she has appeared in ER (1997), George Lopez (2002), Grey's Anatomy, The Big C, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017), and Kim Possible (2019). She is also a playwright, having written the bluegrass gospel musical Smoke On The Mountain (off-Broadway, 1990) and two sequels, among the most produced musicals in the US over the last two decades.
