Martin Pohl

Martin Pohl is a Czech musician, film director, illustrator, and video game developer. He got his start in the film world in the realm of amateur filmmaking. His early works, shot with friends in cities across northern Bohemia, include classics such as "Život není krásný", "Máma má raka", and "Jehovova pomsta". The turning point in his career was the feature film "Párty hárd", which became a huge hit after being posted on YouTube and, to some extent, achieved cult status. He followed it up with a sequel, "Párty Hárder: Summer Massacre", which he filmed under the banner of a professional production company. That film was also a huge hit in theaters, which led to the opportunity to shoot his next film, "Na Plech" (Do the Mæth), which became one of the most successful films in Czech theaters in 2025 and won the Czech Lion for Best Film as voted by movie fans. In addition to filmmaking, he pursues a rap career under the stage name "Řezník" and draws satirical illustrations for the online profile "Mártyho frky". In the gaming world, his most notable work is the "Život není krásný" game series, the latest part of which is set to be released in the spring of 2026.
