Kane Diep is a filmmaker, social strategist and speaker. He directed and co-produced Uploaded: The Asian American Movement and helped grow Prime Video’s TikTok from launch to 23.5 million followers. He served as executive producer and TikTok lead on the Webby-winning Plot Pitches series. Raised in San Diego by Chinese-Vietnamese refugee parents, Diep explores identity, family and representation across documentary and digital media. Uploaded: The Asian American Movement is a feature-length documentary about Asian American artists building audiences online. The film received a Grand Jury Award for Non-Fiction nomination at the 2012 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and was an official selection of the 2012 Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival and San Diego Asian Film Festival. Its university screenings included Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania. At BuzzFeed, Diep directed and produced more than 200 videos over four years, including I Asked My Mom 11 Intimate Questions Before It’s Too Late and I Hired a Speech Therapist to Fix My Boring Voice. At Prime Video, he led the team and strategy behind Plot Pitches, developing and expanding the format. The series won the 2023 Webby Award for Best Social Video Series and was nominated for Branded Series at the 2023 Streamy Awards. Diep also led Team USA’s YouTube strategy through Shareability for the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. His speaking work addresses storytelling, representation and creative experimentation.
