Désiré Ecaré

Désiré Ecaré (1939–2009) was an Ivorian film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor. A graduate of the IDHEC film school in Paris, he made his debut with Concerto pour un exil (1968), followed by À nous deux, France! (1970), both exploring the experiences of Africans in France. His film, Faces of Women (1985), won the FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
